Here’s a comparison of sector performance in January 2017 and January 2025 (up to the 23rd). During Trump’s January 2017, Consumer Discretionary and Materials performed well, and we’re seeing the same trend in 2025. However, Technology has gotten ahead of itself in 2025 with a 4% gain, and Financials are up 2.3%. $SPY should be interesting if tech / financials were to pullback with ER next week…



I’m sharing my thoughts below—though, unfortunately, I’m probably wrong. I might also reach 9:29:29, mortgage the house, and do the exact opposite without telling anyone. That is my right. Anyone who thinks I don’t have that right is a brainless dork and is probably just trying to further their own agenda. You do what you want, and I’ll do the same. If you make money trading, it’s because of you. If you lose money trading, it’s because of you. (I know you already know this, but sometimes a reminder is helpful.)


SPY Levels: Ideally looking for a blow out vs 610 to short into the Weekend. Any whipsaw action or instant flush or grinding action and I will walk away. No interest getting caught on a Friday. I will just go out to the pool (kidding it is like -20 in NY/NJ).
