TRADE REVIEW - SPY March 4th 2024

I traded SPY yesterday (pictured below), and it played out almost perfectly. SPY moved from the bottom of my reach target, through the no-interest zone, and up to the second above target—nearly a 2% move. Another solid example of a "playbook" trade for me.

The setup formed just above my last target, signaling a potential reversal. I placed my initial stop just below the no-interest zone, and once SPY broke out, it never looked back.

Originally, I planned to keep scraps into the close, but if you check the two arrows around 15:30, that’s where SpeedTrader’s DAS platform made all the difference. The tape immediately shifted—something I wouldn’t have been able to catch on ThinkorSwim or E-Trade. Maybe it was luck, or maybe DAS/SpeedTrader gave me the tools I needed to make the right decision when red flags appeared.

SPY - A ton of range. This personally is the type of market I like. I GENERALLY like to risk a small amount and just continue to move up the stop. Do I always do that - of course not. I am constantly putting together a puzzle. If a piece I thought for sure was going to fit does not, I am going to adjust accordingly but in a perfect world that is my goal. This works my strategies and personality (not wanting to give back a ton after being green even if it means giving up some gains).
