SPY Trade from February 4th played out almost perfectly (see chart below). It moved nearly 2% from my reach target, through the no-interest zone, and up to the second above target.

SPY - Red day yesterday for me. Pretty choppy action in the market.

Below is the SPY 1H chart. You can see that the range is pretty picture-perfect. Like the daily no-interest levels, it's important to keep these in mind until we are firmly above or below one of these levels. In between, especially at key spots, it's a danger zone, in my opinion. I may still trade within this range, but I'll keep that in mind.

After big moves, liquidity needs to be created for the next set of moves. Tons of fake-outs and chop are actually something I want to see. I have a sticky note on my desk that reads:

“Give up. The key is to tire you out! That is what they want.”

It's a subtle reminder that sometimes, when tight ranges are doing lots of fake-outs, it's gearing up for a bigger move. Now, I could be saying all this, and we could never close in this range again, but the range is clearly established, and that’s where my head is at.

Even with economic data released - market is in the same spot as yesterday. That is interesting to me.
