BUSY DAY:
Trump announced a preliminary trade deal with the U.K. The agreement opens up more space for American exporters and lowers tariffs on a few specific products. Market is looking at this as progress but some analysts are also warning that although good the UK is still a small slice of the pie. If talks with bigger players start and this is the first domino to fall that would be very good.
The Fed holding interest rates steady at 4.25 to 4.50 percent. That wasn’t a surprise, but what stood out was the tone of their statement. Fed did say they are concerned with inflation and unemployment. Again no surprise - seems like in a wait and see pattern.
New from the Vatican!! We have a new pope and the rumor is he’s an Eagles fan 😀
Looking at the overall market, it looks healthy. That can change quickly but generally speaking… After testing and failing the 200d we are back above with most MAs turning towards the sky. Now we need the market to build off the 200 d. A slice through 550s on SPY and the chances we see new recent lows increases exponentially. Have a good weekend!!
